BORA Kids · Level A1: First Words
Your child's very first steps in Brazilian Portuguese, inside a world made just for them.
In BORA Kids, children learn with Zeca, Capi and Caramelo, three friends who live in a Brazilian backyard called O Quintal da BORA. Zeca is a hyacinth macaw from the Pantanal, Capi is a capybara from Curitiba, and Caramelo is a street dog from São Paulo who gets things wrong on purpose, so children see that mistakes are part of learning. The friends appear in the live lessons, in our animated episodes and in the weekly challenges, so Portuguese always shows up in a familiar place.
By the end of A1, your child can say hello and introduce themselves, count to 20, talk about family and pets, name colors, food and toys, describe their day and make simple plans. All of it in the Portuguese Brazilians really speak, like "Tô com fome!" and "Bora brincar!", not only the textbook version.
What they'll learn
Level A1 has 24 lessons in 6 units:
How the lessons work
Every lesson follows the same happy routine, so children always know what comes next: a hello ritual, new words with pictures and sound bricks, video time with the friends, games, a treasure hunt around the house, and a short conversation. Every fourth lesson is a review party. After each unit, your child earns a stamp for their BORA Kids passport from a real place in Brazil. At the end of the level, they put on a little show and receive their A1 certificate.
At home, too
Each lesson ends with the Desafio da Semana: three small missions to do with the family during the week, so Portuguese lives outside the lesson.
